After successful Suramadu bridge inaugurated by Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on June 10th 2009, access from Java to Madura island and vice versa will become smooth and fast. As information that, to go to the island of Madura island must use the ferry took about 1 hour to traverse 3 miles distance of the Madura strait. So for now and so on, travel time will be shorter because cross from the island of Java to Madura island only takes 10 minutes if using Suramadu bridge. Tourism traffic on the island of Madura will be quickly developed, due to the more smooth and easy to travel to the island of Madura. Since inaugurated by SBY as president of Indonesian Republic, the people are very enthusiastic to try through Suramadu bridge and they are happy to create any photo in there with Suramadu bridge or Madura Strait as a background. In short word, Suramadu bridge is a new hottest local tourist destination in the East Java this year.
Many objects of tourism on the island of Madura coast that has not been managed well. If the tourism object is built well and managed in a correct manner, then finally the beaches of Madura island tourism will become an alternative tourist destination in East Java.
There are several beaches on the island of Madura, the Siring Kemuning beach in the district of Bangkalan, Slopeng beach in the district of Sumenep and Camplong beach in district of Sampang are tourism objects that has built in several years later but many other beaches on the island of Madura is not touchable by the local tourism departement.
At present, the foreign tourists who want to visit tourist destination such as any beach objects on the island of Madura not feel it necessary to consider the difficulty of tourist accommodation because they can stay in a five-star hotel in Surabaya, capital of East Java province, the second largest city in Indonesia. Distance to Surabaya and Madura island only for 15 minutes!
